SEATTLE, WASH. / CHARLOTTE, N.C. (June 3, 2014) — Russell Wilson and Kasey Kahne launched a national, fund-a-need non-profit campaign this week to crowdfund the purchase of two new minibuses to safely transport students from Seattle-area schools to the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County every week. The five-week campaign pits Wilson against Kahne to see who will lead the winning DRIVE by being the first to raise the $25,000 needed to fund the purchase of a bus. The campaign, which ends June 25, is part of “The DRIVE” pep rally and charitable golf event hosted June 23-24 by Wilson and Kahne to support programs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of King County.

Both Wilson and Kahne have taken to social media to trash talk each other and draw up support from their massive fan bases. Fans can join the fun by using Twitter hashtags #TeamRussell and #TeamKasey, depending on who they wish to support in the #theDRIVE.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of King County serves over 17,000 local youth per year. Besides enabling boys and girls to get safely to their clubs after school, the minibuses will also provide transportation for special field trips.

Supporting Wilson and Kahne in The DRIVE is a growing list of corporate partners including major contributing partners, American Family Insurance, Northwest Chevrolet Dealers, Farmers Insurance, Great Clips, and Virginia Mason, and official media partners 710 ESPN Seattle, Q13 FOX Seattle and 425 Magazine.
